We Offer a Range of Services to Support Refugee Families
Refugee families looking to resettle in their new country needs a lot of support on every day tasks. Learning English, shopping for necessities and basic hygiene can be daunting. Below are just some of the support we provide.
Tutoring
For some of our families, learning a second language like English can be extremely difficult and challenging. We offer English as a Second Language tutoring services and provide ongoing language support. We have volunteers who will spend time with each family to offer support as they learn English.
Essential Items
Refugees looking to resettle in their new life needs basic items in order to live. In addition to food and shelter, they need essential items to be able to function in their community.
Through our fundraising efforts, we provide resources and essential items to help families live their life. Essential items include diapers, blankets, school supplies, books, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.
Young Ambassador Program
Through our partnership with JFCS - East Bay, we are Young Ambassadors for their organization. As young ambassadors, we bring awareness to our school and community by providing a presentation of the refugee process and what support they need.
In addition, during our awareness presentation, the student community comes together and assembles new hygiene kits and donates them to our refugee families.
